Our Story
Beautiful designs & quality craftsmanship.
At Jane Blease we design and make wooden lighting, interior accessories and jewellery. Our focus is on creating sustainable, quality products with minimal elegance and attention to detail to fit seamlessly into any environment.
History & Influences
From handcrafted wooden lampshades, table lamps and wall lamps to artwork, brooches, bookmarks and necklaces; each piece is intricately laser cut, meticulously hand-embroidered and carefully constructed from fine wood veneers.
Jane has always loved woodwork, remembering as a young girl her dads projects around the home and garden. Jane specialised in woodwork in her second year at university and spent all her time in the workshop 'playing' with all the tools and machinery.
When Jane set up in 2007 her lighting products were a combination of flat pack pieces and mitred cubes which had hidden internal routed patterns. Driven by materials and processes, the unexpected marriage of wood and thread was born in 2010 when Jane began experimenting with her pyrography pen, piercing holes into wood veneer and intuitively stitching through it, creating surface texture, pattern and colour.
As a child Jane used to sit and stitch with her grandmother, which has greatly influenced her process, it is a nostalgic and therapeutic process for her.
